How to index your blog on Google

when we index our blogs or website it enables Google to crawl your site and then display them to readers, whenever a particular keyword used by you is searched. Google has a robot called Google bot that pulls web pages and contents from your blog to display to end users

Definition of terms

Google bot: Google bot is the search bot software that Google sends out to collect information about information’s on the web to add to Google’s searchable index.

Crawling: Crawling is the process where google bot goes around from site to site, finding new and updated information to report back to Google. The Google bot finds what to crawl using links.

Indexing: Indexing is the processing of information gathered by the Google bot from its crawling activities. Once documents are processed they are added to Google searchable index if they are determined to be quality content. During the indexing process Google bot processes the keywords on the page and where those words are located.

How to make your blog and its content discovered quickly

Google bot searches the web from time to time, even if you don’t notify Google about your new site. They will still display it but it takes a lot of time. To make your blog discovered by Google quickly you must:

1.Create and submit your sitemaps:

A sitemap is a link that contains all your web pages. Your sitemap groups all your pages into a single URL and with this URL other pages of your blog or website can be discovered by Google. To create a sitemap on a WordPress blog use SEO Yoast plugin, this plugin automatically creates the sitemap for your blog once it is installed and for non-WordPress use this free tool XML Sitemap Generator to generate the sitemap for your blog or website.

2.Submit your sitemap to Google

After your sitemap has been generated the next thing to do is to submit your sitemap to Google for indexing. To do this visit Google search console. But before must verify that you are the owner of the blog and then after that under sitemap click on add sitemap and then submit. Google processes your web pages and content before indexing them.

 

3.Create an account with Google Analytics

Visit https://analytics.google.com/. This is a useful tool for tracking your new blog. It notifies Google that a new blog is on the horizon

 

4.Submit your new site using your sitemap to other search engines like Bing
